As I blogged previously, I presented yesterday afternoon in the “BIM” workshop of the inaugural conference for prefabAUS to a filled room with my fellow presenters Michael Skelton (AECOM), Rhys Hall (Designinc) and Damien Crough (HICKORY).
Some great discussion ensued and some great “lessons learnt” were shared. I have included the link to my presentation here: AAM_prefabAUS_Presentation_MR
but I am assured by Sarah Backhouse that the other presentations will be posted shortly.
One of the interesting “chance meetings” was with Dr Elliot Duff, Stream Leader at CSIRO but better introduced as one of the “Fathers of Zebedee”.
For those that arent aware of Zebedee, its a ground breaking mobile (handheld) laser scanner which was developed in Australia and now commercially available to the world.
For some more examples of what it can achieve, see below.
or the direct youtube link here; http://youtu.be/Rbj1uIzWXYU
Dr Elliot provided some further information about the device here: https://wiki.csiro.au/display/ASL/Zebedee as well as some amazing insights to the potential use of the Google Tango project.
The future is near.
