Leading US BIM Consultant Confirms 2014 Forum Keynote Address

The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) is pleased to announce Mr Tyler Goss, Director of Construction and Manufacturing Solutions at BIM consultancy CASE, as the latest high profile international keynote presenter at the BIM-MEPAUS Construction Innovation 2014 Forum.

Based in New York City, CASE provides strategic advice to building designers, contractors and owners seeking to supplant traditional methods of project delivery through technology-driven process innovation.

To help achieve this, Mr Goss takes a holistic approach to the design and construction lifecycle that draws upon his experience as a licenced architect, a Virtual Design and Construction Manager, and currently Director of Construction and Manufacturing Solutions. In this role, Mr Goss works with a range of clients – construction, manufacturing, and operations – to capture, manage, and apply robust building data that delivers improvements in productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Prior to joining CASE, Mr Goss held the position of Regional Virtual Design and Construction Manager at building giant Turner Construction where he implemented innovative construction management techniques on projects such as the Levi’s Stadium, Madison Square Garden and NYU Langone Medical Center.

He has a Master of Architecture from UCLA, and has presented to diverse industry audiences such as the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the Construction Managers Association of America, and at events including BIM Forum, KA Connect, ENR FutureTech, and Autodesk University.

How much BIM are you getting for your BUCKs?

How much BIM are you getting for your BUCKs? When it comes to many “BIM events” it is often hard to judge, not to mention either finding the funds or getting management to part with hard fought Professional Development money.

I have been involved with almost all the major BIM events held in ANZ over the last few years, and even tried my hand at organizing one last year. They are NEVER easy and extremely time consuming, especially if you are trying to secure an international speaker (or three).

That is why I am so impressed with the speaker line-up for this years BIM-MEP-AUS Construction Innovation 2014 Forum being held on the 7 – 8 August 2014 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

bma_forum_2014

ACMA’s Sumit Oberoi and his team have assembled an All-Star** ensemble which includes 9 international presenters, at least another 7 local presenters with international experience and at least 3 speakers with CEO experience. Just have a look over the confirmed speakers below.

** Almost All-Star: Except for one gaseous nebula in the form of yours truly.

And how much will this cost? For non-ACMA members $990.00 (ex GST). Which is amazing #BIMvalue when you look at the vast amount of experience that is to shared during these 2 days.

And most importantly, don’t let the acronym fool you. MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Piping) involves all aspects of the design, construction and facility spectrum. Architecture without MEP is a car-port. And BIM without MEP is … well not BIM.

So “do yourself a favor” and register for the 2014 Construction Innovation Forum here.
